The New Threat: Fire and Ash
While The Way of Water introduced us to the benevolent Metkayina, Avatar: Fire and Ash shatters the illusion that all Na'vi are peaceful. The film follows Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their children as they are forced to leave the reefs and travel to the desolate Volcanic Regions.
Here they encounter the Ash People (The Mangkwan), a nomadic and aggressive clan led by the ruthless Varang. Unlike other clans who serve Eywa, the Ash People believe the Great Mother abandoned them when their lands burned. They utilize fire, ash-camouflage, and stolen RDA weaponry in a war for dominance.
Key Characters & Factions
New Biomes & Technology
The Zakru Graveyard (Ash Lands)
A desolate region where the sky is choked with soot. The ground is unstable lava rock. The Ash People live in the hollowed-out bones of ancient megafauna (similar to the Zakru from Frontiers of Pandora).
Nightwraiths
The primary mount of the Ash People. Unlike the graceful Ikran, Nightwraiths are bat-like, echolocation-based predators that thrive in the smoke where visibility is zero.
The "D-Wasps" (RDA Tech)
New automated drone swarms used by the RDA. They are small, explosive, and designed to hunt purely based on heat signatures in the volcanic fog.
